Louisa Brown has been involved in various aspects of the design world for the last 15 years. She earned an undergraduate degree in 2004 from Harvard University with a concentration in History of Art and Architecture. She then moved to Florence, Italy where she studied Interior Design at L'Accademia Italiana. Interested in attaining a professional degree in design, she returned to the US and attended Pratt Institute's Graduate School of Architecture in Brooklyn, where she earned her Master's degree in architecture.
Her past work experience includes retail design at Pompei AD in New York City and residential design at Maryann Thompson Architects in Cambridge. Louisa joined the Incorporated team in 2010. Since then she has helped develop the FF&E department. At Incorporated, she has been able to combine her love of all design facets, from art and architecture to interiors and decorating. Her passion is in the final layer of design and how those finishes and furniture can coordinate seamlessly with the broader design. Her strength is in understanding clients' needs and tastes and facilitating a design that caters to them. She modulates palettes and styles around the clients, even though deep down she may be ever tempted by large floral prints and vintage furniture from the disco era.
Tyler Kleck has been on the Incorporated team since 2007. Born and raised in northwest Ohio, Tyler attended the University of Cincinnati where he graduated with a Master's degree and a B.S. in architecture. He may have focused too heavily on intramural athletics.
Tyler began his professional career at offices in Baltimore and San Diego, gaining experience in institutional and high-end, single-family residential work. From there he moved to Tsao & McKown in NYC, working on several condominiums and large apartment renovations, and gaining an appreciation for the office's high-end millwork and interior detailing. Tyler has also spent time at Pompei A.D. in NYC, focusing on retail projects for Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and The Art of Shaving as well as a number of other brands.
As an associate at INC, Tyler has designed and managed many projects ranging from high-end apartment and office renovations to ground-up condominium buildings. With an additional interest in graphic design, he has also helped develop many of the branding aspects on various commercial projects. Perhaps born of his midwestern roots, Tyler takes pride in wearing as many hats as required to complete a project, no matter how small the task.
Having executed residential buildings, hotels, restaurants, galleries, stores and private residences, we approach a chair, a room and a super structure all equally, drawing inspiration from the constraints of each. Portraiture is a metaphor for how we work. By approaching each project as a distinct subject, to be focused through our design lens, we fashion tailored designs that capture the unique desires of our clientele. By thoughtfully filtering the ideas that flow through our open studio, we implement a design Darwinism, bringing a refined aesthetic to a wide range of projects. Through a carefully maintained library, we translate successful solutions between contexts, and enrich our projects through shared information. The Inspiration, functionality and technique required at each phase of the design and construction process is provided for by the distinct complementary talents of Incorporated’s three principals and informs the studio's culture.
Curtains to Curtain Walls
We are a multi-disciplinary architecture and design studio, with experience in a wide range of project types, from big to small, specializing in the integration of the design disciplines.
We are an open-source design studio where all ideas are created equal, but only the strong survive; thus unlocking the creative process to inspiration from our clientele and beyond our studio.
Us Is More
Because many heads are better than one, our practice emerged from more than a decade of collective knowledge power, which we access through a live, shared, virtual archive of materials, ideas and experiences.
To lead is to listen; hence, each of our projects is a unique portrait imbued with the aspirations of our clientele... be the individuals or a segment of the population.
A tripartite leadership structure guides our projects from conception and documentation to implementation, balancing the three essential elements of successful design: joy, utility and craft.
For Drew, God is in the details that make a good idea into a great design, from the drawing board to the construction site.
Adam keeps an eye on the big picture from 30,000 feet and down to earth, making sure that the sum is always greater than its parts.
Gabe wants to change the way we use technology and our collective knowledge in the studio to build a better world outside of it.
