Almost Al Fresco
Restaurant Latour is nestled into the eaves of the Grand Cascades Lodge at the Crystal Springs Resort in Sussex County and was developed as a romantic aerie and culinary retreat for area residents and resort guests alike. The intimate dining room commands a dramatic 30-mile panoramic view of the Kittatinny Mountains and offers the most elevated of restaurant experiences. Sussex County and the Kittatinny Mountains are rich in natural and human resources that support the Latour kitchen. The restaurant draws from a 100% organic, on-property, Chef’s Garden for fresh “garden-to-table” produce and herbs. A foraging program brings in edible delicacies from nearby forests. And finally, provisions for the kitchen are sourced exclusively from local farms and organic producers. The design of the Latour interior seeks to support the culinary mission, of a locally driven menu rooted in quality and craftsmanship, with an aesthetic that brings the light, color, character, qualities, and natural beauty of the surrounding landscape, flora, fauna, and farmland into the dining room. The region's forests and farmlands inspire a Woodlawn dining room with a rich natural palette to compliment the seasonal culinary experience. The main dining room is entirely paneled in real conifer bark. A layered palette of white oak, grey granite, moss green mohair, natural linen, brass, bronze, blackened steel, antique mirror, and cast crystal come together to create an atmosphere at once comfortable, elevated, and refined. The new Latour redefines fine dining as warm, convivial, and deeply connected to the natural and agrarian landscape of the area.
